ABERDULAIS FALLS

Following our overnight stay at Cardiff, we set out for our final full day of adventure. We decided to head north into Wales, toward the Breacon Beacons. First, however, we stopped at Aberdulais Falls.

The waterfalls are a very short walk from the parking lot. They weren't Niagra, but they had a simple charm.

The park has a few exhibits recalling the area's roll in industry, where the water was harnessed for copper smelting, and later flour and grist milling.

These were the uppermost falls.

The park had recently went to a lot of expense to make all areas wheelchair accessible, so even this view is available to all.

Besides the falls themselves, the featured attraction was the Turbine House. Attached to it was a large water wheel.

Running alongside the Turbine House was a fish run for salmon migration. We didn't see any migrating salmon that day.
